I am a single mother with a nearly 2 year old son. I have been struggling to get on my feet, I finally have a steady job and have gotten a promotion. I want to be able to follow my dream, but my dream is to be a fashion designer. I know I can get my education online, I have the school picked out, have all the info I need, but I don’t know if I should wait until I have been stable for a few years before I apply, or just apply for the distant future? I feel like I am running out of time, and I feel I would be better off in the long run doing something I enjoy and making more money, than struggling to stay on my feet with this job forever never knowing if I will reach my dream.
I already know where I am going to attend, it’s the Academy of Arts University Online. I will still be working. I am only asking the opinion of whether I should wait or do it now. Please no stupid answers, so far only one person has given a real answer. To the rest of you, Bakayaharo!!

You are not going to be able to go to college, it never works in these situations. You can, however get job training. Have you ever heard of BOCES? You know you can get some money being an orthadentic assistant. Only six months of training. Typically you should wait till after college to fool around though.
dont wait do it now..Trust me time flys too fast to put anything off until tomorrow especially when it comes to making more money for you and your son.I wish I would of gone back to school ages ago now I’m in a job that only pays $22.00 an hour
Take baby steps. Order your thoughts and make a plan. Consistently reach for your goal and you will get there. I love this saying… Every journey begins with a single step. Whatever you do, do not quit that job until you responsibly have a replacement. There is something to be said for security. That doesn’t mean you can’t move forward. It just means to work around the current job until you can afford to make a change.
