OctaviaStarr.™ :

Reason why I ask is because I’m currently studying for my GED and I plan on going to college [some kind of art & design school; aspiring fashion designer], can I go full-time as if I just graduated high school (first time college student) or do I have to go to a community college get a degree in something THEN transfer to the school of my choice OR do I have to apply for ‘continuing education’?

YES! The GED is just like a high school diploma. Don’t let anyone tell you differently!

it may be harder to get into certain schools with a GED, but it should be possible. art and design schools may be looking of samples of work.

if you do struggle, then you can go to a local community college for one year and then transfer…then the school you transfer to will be looking for your GED and your first year grades of community college.

your GED is the same as a high school diploma. You should be able to gain entry to any college course as a full time student . I would contact the college you want to attend for entry requirements.

It is sometimes suggested to students with poor grades that because direct college entry might be difficult due to grades, they start at a more local technical college , and then apply for a transfer after one year.

You can be a full time student./ Most go to the route where they need to attend a community college first, you should, however check watery the colleges that you have an interest and find out their policy.
